Five Reasons Why I Don’t Like Obama

I have never liked Obama, not since the Democratic debates in 2008, before he even got the nomination. I saw too many things about him that I couldn’t support, that I couldn’t like, and that list has only gotten longer throughout his Presidency. But there are five top reasons why I don’t like him and never will, and no, none of them have to do with the color of his skin. The following reasons are listed in no particular order of importance; in fact, they are all equally important in my eyes. I know that I am about to tick off any of my readers who are fans of the 44th President, but that can’t be helped and I will make no apologies for doing so. Maybe some of you will see the truth in my reasons, and anyone who has followed my blog over the last two years knows that I stand for the truth in everything, always. At least, they should know that…

So here goes, my five reasons for not liking Obama…

1) He is a Marxist/socialist/globalist. Obama has made little secret of his Marxist leanings and his actions have shown that. He studied with Marxist terrorist Bill Ayers and still counts the Weather Underground founder as a close friend. He can quote Marxist writer Saul Alinsky whenever he likes. Obama has shown through the actions of his regime that he is an adherent to the idea of big, centralized government that supposedly has all of the answers to society’s ills. He has sworn to drastically reshape America to fit what he sees it should be, and he has been taking action to reduce America’s influence globally to fit in with the globalists’ vision of a one world government. That’s very dangerous thinking coming from the Oval Office.

2) He is a liar. There’s no two ways about it, the man is an inveterate liar and cannot be trusted to ever speak the truth. He has lied about his past. He has lied about his religion. He lied about Obamacare. He lied about the Fast and Furious program of selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels. He lied about Benghazi. He lied about the IRS targeting of conservative groups. At every turn Obama has chosen a lie over the truth, and while it is understandable that there may be occasions when it is advisable for a President to be disingenuous to advance America’s needs and security, Obama has set a standard of lying at every turn to cover his own backside and avoid taking responsibility for his actions. He is a pathological liar and has shown that he cannot be trusted in anything.

3) He is a dictator. I have often referred to Obama as Caesar because that is how he rules. Dictators always rule by decree, and his preference to governing through Executive Order rather than acts of Congress show him to be such a dictator in all but name. He not only has not kept to his presidential oath by upholding our Constitution, he has openly disregarded the Constitution with its separation of powers and he has openly declared that in his view the Constitution is dead and no longer valid. For over 200 years our Constitution has served as the basis for this republic and served it well, yet Obama has suddenly declared the Constitution to be worthless. No, his reign has all of the hallmarks of a dictatorship save for martial law, and I believe that will be coming by the end of the year, for he will use any pretext to dissolve Congress and suspend the Constitution, both of which actions Executives Orders, or decrees, have authorized him to do for any reason. This is why I believe that he is the most dangerous threat facing America today and our freedoms. Watch him closely and follow his actions, not his propaganda.

4) He is a Muslim. I have been saying since at least the 2008 Democratic convention that he was a Muslim and events have proven me right. Don’t be fooled by his attending Jeremiah Wright’s church for several years, that was just a smokescreen to make Americans believe he was a Christian. I knew from his name that he was a Muslim, for when young black men convert to Islam they almost always choose an Islamic name for themselves; both Barack and Hussein are common Arabic names for men. But even more damning as a Muslim are his actions and associations since becoming President. He has openly appointed Muslims to key positions within his administration, including Iranian-born Muslim Valerie Jarrett as White House Chief of Staff and another Muslim as a key advisor high within the Depart of Homeland Security. He has backed away from a long time ally, Israel, and taken up the Palestinian cause. He publicly supports the actions of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, including openly supporting Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President Morsi and then when the Egyptian army deposed Morsi in answer to public outcry Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood against the Egyptian military, an organization which has been a stabilizing factor in Egypt since Britain gave the Egyptians their independence. Obama even admitted in a TV interview that he was a Muslim, but all of the mainstream media ignored that. Everything he has said and done in office when it comes to relations with Muslim nations has been done from a Muslim viewpoint, from abandoning Iraq to releasing five top Taliban commanders in exchange for the token release of one deserter who converted to Islam. He is a Muslim and that makes him a traitor to America, for he supports or at least downplays the actions of the very radical Muslims that we have been fighting for 13 years.

5) He is the most corrupt President in American history. The level of corruption within Obama’s administration have sunken to levels usually seen in Third World countries. From all of the lies and obfuscation regarding his iffy birth certificate and faked social security card to Fast and Furious. From the corrupt nature of Obamacare to the IRS targeting scandal to Benghazi. Every action taken by this administration has been self-serving and designed to enrich either key government officials or favored private sector executives. Even his rule by Executive Order is a form of corruption as it totally disregards the Constitution in order to further his agenda. Obama has more fishy deals under his belt and more treacherous actions to cover up of any American President in our history, even more than the left’s favorite whipping boy of all time Nixon. Obama has set a pattern of corruption that shows no sign of ending, but that shouldn’t be surprising since he is a Chicago politician and they have a long history of corruption scandals. And what is Obama’s answer to the scandals that are plaguing him? He plays golf and takes vacations; so far in five years the Obamas have burned up well over $44,000,000 in taxpayer money on vacations, at a time when most of us are struggling to make ends meet. The President needs to either rein in the corruption or accept the consequences of his actions and face impeachment.

So those are my five reasons for not liking Obama. I could easily expand that list as there are many aspects of him and his presidency that I don’t like, but those are my top five and they will do for now. All of these reasons are supported by facts easily accessible and by reasoning that is right on track. If I pissed you off so be it, as I said I will make no apologies. I just hope that enough of you read this article with an open mind to make some small difference in the world.

As always, peace and blessings to you, my friends.

Putin’s Ukrainian Gamble

We’re now weeks into the standoff between Russia and the Ukraine, and the situation is still balanced precariously between a diplomatic solution and outright war. The annexation of the Crimea is complete, 40,000 Russian troops are massed along Ukraine’s eastern border, and Russian fighter jets are buzzing the lone U.S. warship in the Black Sea. Limited sanctions have been slapped on Russia to no avail. What can be done to resolve this tense situation?

Nothing.

Oh there are of course actions that could be taken to discourage Putin from any further adventuring in the Ukraine, but the West lacks the political will to take those steps. One destroyer in the Black Sea will not deter Putin, nor will five fighter jets in the Baltic States; all those amount to are token shows of the flag. Widespread sanctions will not deter Putin; he could care less and all he has to do is seek closer economic ties with China to get out from under the West’s sanctions. Even the Ukraine cannot deter Putin, as we saw this week when a Ukrainian army unit meekly surrendered to unarmed civilians. No, Putin has a free hand open to him in the Ukraine and he knows it.

Ukraine has been an important part of Russian defensive strategy for over two hundred years, and during the days of the Russian Empire it was Russia’s frontline against any moves by the faltering Ottoman Empire. Ukraine gained its independence briefly after the Russian revolution that swept the Communists into power, but lost it again shortly after the end of the Russian civil war. Stalin persecuted the Ukraine mercilessly during the early 1930s and starved millions of Ukrainians to death in retribution for Ukrainian agitation for independence. During the long years of the Cold War the Ukraine was strategically important as a prop for the Eastern Bloc, and once the Ukraine regained its independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union it was a loss keenly felt in Moscow. Putin would dearly love to regain control over the Ukraine as a bulwark of Russia’s defenses against the EU and NATO, both of which have welcomed former Eastern Bloc nations like Poland, the Baltic States and Romania into their ranks.

In the current crisis we have ethnic Russians in the eastern Ukraine calling for Moscow’s intervention, and I don’t doubt that Russian intelligence and special forces troops are active in the eastern Ukraine fomenting the unrest. Kiev’s hands are pretty much tied in the matter since the Ukrainian army is so ineffective, and since Putin has threatened to invade if Kiev cracks down on the ethnic Russians in the east. It’s the same old argument and reasoning that Adolf Hitler used in 1938 to absorb much of Czechoslovakia – military intervention is necessary to protect the Russians living in eastern Ukraine. Putin sees this as his golden opportunity to regain a part of what was lost, and the Crimea was just the opener and the test of the West’s resolve to protect the Ukraine against Russian aggression. That resolve has been shown to be sadly lacking.

The only deterrence that would induce Putin to keep his well-trained and effective army behind Russian borders is strength, and the West currently lacks that strength. The EU is still in the long process of getting its collective feet under it and is incapable of taking unified action against Russian aggression; any EU military action in 20 years has consisted of actions taken by its member states such as Germany, and none of those states is strong enough to pose a credible threat to Russian ambitions. Only America has the potential strength to deter Putin from taking further actions, and from the White House down we are proving to be weak. Caesar Barack Hussein Obama can bluster and threaten all he wants to but Putin knows that Obama lacks the resolve to stand toe to toe with Russia and not blink. Our showing of American military force in Eastern Europe has only been token to say the least. While this crisis continues for week after week the talk from the White House and the Defense Secretary is that we need to further reduce our forces to levels even lower than Bill Clinton did. (Ever wonder why so many Reserve and National Guard units had to serve full-time in Iraq and Afghanistan? It’s due strictly to the deep cuts to our military enacted under President Clinton when the world was still agog that the Soviet Union had fallen apart.) Why, we are even pulling the last of our armored divisions out of Europe for the first time since WWII!

So the Ukraine is effectively on its own. Only direct military intervention could prevent the Russians from doing whatever they like in Ukraine, and I don’t see that intervention coming. The government in Kiev has asked the UN to send peacekeepers into the eastern Ukraine in an attempt to quell the unrest and discourage Russia from invading, but will those peacekeepers ever arrive? It’s doubtful since that move would need the approval of the UN Security Council, where Russia has veto power. So even the UN may not be able to help. Russia can seize eastern Ukraine anytime it wants to and Putin knows it.

So Vladimir Putin’s Ukrainian gamble will pay off and he will get his way. It’s a sad time for the Ukraine and all Ukrainians everywhere.

Goodbye to 2013

As I sit here sleepless at 3:30 in the morning on New Year’s Day I’ve been reflecting back on the year that just ended and decided to put my thoughts in print. So as you read this keep in mind that I am sleep deprived right now, and as always , consider the source.

2013 was a weird year for me personally. It started out hopeful in a number of ways but as the year progressed those hopes crumbled for one reason or another. A dear friend that I was very close to drifted away for reasons unstated, which was a major disappointment. Hopes for improving my overall health and fitness faded into just trying to maintain what I already have. Hopes and dreams, and heavy emphasis on dreams, were crushed when someone I really cared about turned away from me. My personal life deteriorated to the point where I was afraid that I would end up homeless on the streets, and I finally had to go in the hospital for a five-day re-tuning of my mental state. One of the biggest disappointments of the year was getting turned down yet again for my Social Security disability benefits, which has left me in financial limbo for what will probably be the next year and a half. So overall this past year wasn’t all that great, but it was still better than some years I’ve had in the past.

On the plus side of things, I have made a lot of really good online friends this past year, most of whom keep in touch with me on a fairly regular basis; that seems strange to me since I have drastically reduced the number of hours that I spend obsessing on Facebook. My personal situation has stabilized to the point where I am no longer in panicked flight mode, which is a good thing because when I get that way I always manage to make the wrong decisions. My interest in music is starting to come back after several months of non-existence, and while my guitars remain untouched I am at least listening to music again on occasion. I was given a Playstation 2 for Christmas so now I am getting back into gaming, a hobby that I always loved and a good harmless way to occupy the empty hours in my day. My attorney has expressed the opinion that I stand a good chance of getting my disability when I go before the judge, which should happen sometime in early 2015, so I am hesitantly hopeful regarding that. My mental state, while never what could be called good, has improved to the point where my issues are more manageable. And probably most importantly, I have been spending more time talking to God the past four months than I had in the first part of the year, and that is very important to me.

Looking at the world around me I see that things have really gone downhill and are continuing to do so. We have a Congress that is bitterly divided and completely ineffective. The Obama administration has been plagued by more scandals than any President’s that I can remember, and I believe we have only seen the tip of the iceberg in that regard. We have a closet Muslim President who always chooses to side with the Islamists and the terrorists of the Muslim Brotherhood. The homosexuals have managed to push their agenda to the point where same-sex marriage is becoming legal in most states, and now such perverts as pedophiles and the bestiality people are starting to claim that their deviance is just another sexual orientation and should be recognized as such. Obamacare’s highly touted roll out is a complete mess. And our economy is being held together with spit and baling wire and could come undone at any time. So 2013 was a year when America slipped ever further down the slippery slope, and if ever a nation was ripe for a dictator it is us.

So the bottom line is that in my book 2013 wasn’t that good of a year, and I’m afraid that 2014 doesn’t look like it will be much of an improvement. All I can do is hope, which is hard for me, and pray, which is getting easier every day. This new year could end up surprising me and turn out OK, but I don’t expect it to. Am I being gloomy about it? Probably, but I’m gloomy for very good reasons. I always try to hope for the best but expect the worst, and then when things turn out good I am pleasantly surprised.

So for 2014 I say “I hope it turns out to be a good year”, but I’m ready for it if it’s not. My prayer for each and every one of you is that this year goes well for you, in as many ways as possible. May you all have peace and joy in this year in spite of the challenges thrown in your path, and may you all come to a deeper knowledge and understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. For ultimately our best hopes lie with Him.

As for 2013 I say “goodbye and good riddance”!

Peace and blessings to you all, my friends.

A Note on North Korea

I’m going to do something I don’t usually do, which is endeavor to keep this post sort and sweet. There has been a lot of rumbling out of North Korea in recent weeks and a lot of blustering from Washington, D.C., but what does it really all mean? Can North Korea really hit the contiguous United States with a missile? Why has D.C. been blustering extra hard only to apparently blink? What is the real threat of war with North Korea?

There has been a lot of conjecture regarding whether or not North Korea could hit the mainland US with a missile armed with a nuclear weapon, or perhaps something as “mundane” as a chemical weapon, and most of the speculation seems to focus on whether or not their long-range missiles could make it. For weeks the speculation has been on the possibility that North Korea could successfully mount a nuke on a missile, and Washington has been issuing statements doubting whether or not they could. And yet, two days ago it was announced that North Korea did have the means of mounting a nuclear warhead on a missile! So I am going to concur with the defense intelligence specialists who say that they could. Besides, if it was so certain that North Korea was unable to mount a nuke on a long-range missile then why all of the concern about them hitting us with an EMP burst over the western US? All things considered, I would say that North Korea can and has mounted nukes on some of its missiles and that the nuclear threat to South Korea, Japan, Guam and even the western United States is very real.

Why has Washington made such a big show of blustering at North Korea? I think that first it has been, as they say, to reassure our Asian allies that we mean to stand by our commitments to defend them, but our rhetoric and actions have exceeded the usual response. Now perhaps this has been in answer to North Korea exceeding their past bombastic statements, but I think that it has as much to do with covering Washington’s butt as with anything. I also think that in part it was sending the message to China that we were taking the North Korean threats of attack very seriously so that China would try to rein in their belligerent ally. Yet, we have blinked. America has cancelled a ballistic missile test in California in an effort to avoid provoking North Korea, and we have very publicly announced that the very squadrons of Air Force jets that we would need in a Korean conflict are standing down due budget cuts. These moves only send the message to Kim Jong-Un that we are weaker than he thinks and that he can continue to set the pace in this dance of death. I believe that the White House is doing it’s best to not let this good crisis go to waste since it makes a great distraction from the domestic issues that Obama is trying to ram through.

So is the threat of war with North Korea real? Yes, it is. Kim has painted himself into a corner from which he can do nothing but make good on his threats or he faces being discredited in the eyes of his own people. After more than 60 years of rule by the Kim dynasty North Korea has become the paranoid schizophrenic of east Asia, and I believe that he truly believes we are out to get him. With tensions as high as they are, all he has to do is launch a missile – even just a test – and someone will shoot it down. Then, as they say, it will be on. The missiles are ready and the threat is real, and it will just take one miscalculation on either side for war to erupt. History is rife with miscalculations starting wars, and another is about to be added to the list. The only thing to be determined is how long it will last and how destructive it will be…

Peace and blessings to you all, my friends…while we can enjoy them.

The Beast is Rising

“From Genesis to Revelation, the story now unfolds…

666 and the Beast is arising

love is the answer but love grows cold…”

from the song “Original Man” by King Swamp, copyright 1989 by Virgin Records.

I will start today’s post with that quote from a really good song by one of the best unknown bands that I’ve ever heard simply because at this time, in 2013, we are watching prophecy come true on an almost daily basis, and they are prophecies that bode ill for humanity. Yes, I am referring to all of the Biblical prophecies regarding the Anti-Christ, the Beast of Revelation, the vile global dictator that Christians have been dreading for 2,000 years. It is true that people have mistakenly believed that others throughout history were the Beast, based primarily on how they behaved, people like Nero, several popes, Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler and even Saddam Hussein, but none of those people fit the right combinations of global events and personal heinousness. But today we are seeing the rise of that very dictator in the midst of the right combination of global events, and I am 100% convinced that this current attempt at installing the Beast is the one spoken of in Revelation.

I say attempt to install deliberately because I believe that Satan has been trying to get his boy installed into power since shortly after the time of Christ, and Satan is nothing if not persistent. I believe that Nero was an attempt to install the Beast, and possibly also Charlemagne (if you read about Charlemagne in any depth you will see that he was not the benign, wise ruler history paints him as but was instead a ruthless king who crushed any opposition to his efforts). I also believe that Napoleon and Hitler were both attempts to install the Beast precisely because their behaviors were what was written about the Beast by prophets such as Daniel, Ezekiel and John the Apostle; besides, in those cases along with Nero and Charlemagne they were the rulers of the most powerful military empires of their day. remember that statement and thought, for I will come back to it shortly.

In keeping with my policy of not burdening my readers with endless references to the Scriptures I will limit my references to the following books and chapters, which I encourage you to read objectively to see if old Dave knows what he is talking about. The references are Daniel 11 and Revelation 13 – take a few moments to read them and absorb what they are saying before we look at what to watch for regarding the identity of the Beast.

This evil dictator’s primary attributes are pride and haughtiness, a disregard for what is honest and godly and an elevation of himself above all that is holy and true. He is a liar, a thief and a usurper. He does not deal honestly with anyone, especially the people under him. He is filled with vanity and blind ambition, deceit and a lack of common decency. He elevates himself over everyone and everything. In short, he acts just like the worst of the Caesars, like Napoleon, like Hitler. He is a totalitarian and an authoritarian who believes that it is his destiny to rule with an iron fist and that he has the right to crush any and all opposition. He is a complete bastard and the worst dictator the world has ever produced.

What are some of the actions he will take that can be used to identify him? That’s pretty apparent from reading the Scriptures. He will usurp power. He will force Israel to sign a seven-year treaty that he has no intention of keeping. He will cause the world to worship him as the new messiah. He will cause the conditions that will get the whole world, or at least the greater part of it, to accept the globalists’ dream of a universal ID that will be needed to conduct even the simplest financial transactions. He will wage war on the saints, meaning the Christians who dare to defy his dictatorship. And in the end he will invade Israel with his evil heart set on that nation’s destruction.

As an interesting sidenote, a few months ago I wrote a post wherein I referenced the Beast, and on that post I received the interesting comment that the Beast would be the looked for 12th Mahdi of Islam. At the time I didn’t put much credibility into that theory but I did promise the writer of the comment that I would look into it further and think it over. Long story short, I have done exactly that and as a result I have come to agreement with my wise reader. If you think about it this makes perfect sense since it will bring the world’s 1.5 plus Muslims into line with the Beast’s reign, and who better to help him wage war against the saints than the very religion that has zero tolerance for infidels of any other faith, but are also especially antagonistic toward Christians. Which means that this vile leader will have to be a Muslim himself since the Muslims would never accept an infidel as the 12th Mahdi. So that is another attribute that we can watch for. This also makes a lot of sense when viewed in light of the pending “reconciliation” of Islam with apostate Christianity, which doesn’t believe in the immutable truths of the Bible; this very “ecumenicalism” will eventually encompass Islam, apostate Christianity, polytheistic Hinduism and Buddhism, which doesn’t believe in a personal God as we know it. All of the anti-Christian faiths will be joined under the Beast’s banner in the name of mutual respect and acceptance, so we now have another action he will take to watch for.

One last thing to note before I go on to name this Beast is the fact that all previous attempts to install Satan’s chosen minion have taken place in the leading military powers of their time. Ancient Rome, the Frankish empire, post-revolutionary France and 1930s Germany were all either the leading military force of their day or became so under the rule of their despotic dictators. I have believed for many years that this will be another hallmark of the Beast’s rise to power. There have been many theories expounded over the last few decades that this dictator or that dictator was the Anti-Christ, but all of them failed to take into account the actual military power of the realm in question; the latest one that I have heard is the one that states that popinjay Ahmadinejad in Iran will be the Beast, but outside of its own little sphere of existence Iran is at best a third-rate military power and should therefore be excluded from consideration. What nation does that leave us then? Well, what nation is to this day the most powerful nation on the earth? That’s right, America, and I have believed for years that the Beast would prove to be an American President.

And so now I have tipped my hand regarding the identity of the Beast…that’s right, he is none other than the president of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama.

Now I can imagine that right there I will have lost many of you for one reason or another. Maybe those of you who will leave at this point are fans of Obama – I will pray for you because you are already falling under the spell of the Beast. Maybe some of you find it impossible to believe that America could ever produce such a vile, evil dictator – the Germans thought the same about Germany right up until 1932. My hope and my prayer is that you will at least finish reading this post, and then if you wish to excoriate me in the comments feel free. But the Beast will be an American President no matter which President he will be. So, assuming you are still with me, let’s look at some of the facts surrounding this particular President and see if my argument will hold water – and please hold yours until I am through.

Obama is a Muslim who has shown an utter disregard for true Christian faith, to the point where he has even masqueraded as a Christian in order to get elected. He usurped power – enough doubt over his actual legality as a presidential contender, let alone a president, has been established to surpass the “beyond a reasonable doubt” clause. He has elevated himself above everyone and everything, taking no responsibility for failings and taking credit where it is not due him. He has lied and cheated and deceived the American people. He is haughty and filled with pride. He is on his way to Israel within days to discuss the Middle East peace process. He and his administration have been trampling on the U.S. Constitution for over four years now and it is getting worse; under Barack Hussein Obama America is being transformed into a police state such as the world hasn’t seen since Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia. There are things that he hasn’t done yet to qualify him as the Beast. He hasn’t forced Israel to accept a deceitful treaty – yet. He hasn’t declared war on the saints – yet – but his administration has set the tone for it by cozying up to the Muslim Brotherhood and by standing against Christian values and beliefs. He hasn’t caused the implementation of the Mark of the Beast – yet – but with the quickening moves toward the establishment of such a system and with the economic destruction he is causing we are well on our way down that path. And he hasn’t been declared the messiah – yet – but when a national news magazine runs a cover story calling him the “New Messiah”, how much longer will it be before he fulfills that prophecy as well?

When did I first suspect that he would be the long-dreaded Beast of Revelation? When he made that famous appearance in Berlin during the 2008 campaign. As I watched the outpouring of adulation and transcendent joy that the Germans greeted him with I was reminded of Adolf Hitler, and frankly the alarms started sounding in my head. Since then I have watched him and prayed that I was wrong, and since then I have found absolutely nothing to discredit the idea that he would be the Beast.

There…I have done it, I have gone on the record with the identity of the Beast. I may have just made myself a marked man, but the truth must be said no matter what the cost. I sincerely hope that I am wrong about him, but I know that I am not; too many prophecies concerning the Beast are being fulfilled in the person of Barack Hussein Obama to believe otherwise.

May God have mercy on us all…

One final note before I go, and this goes out to all of you who may be thinking of calumnies to hurl at me in the comments section – prove me wrong. Don’t just hurl insults or blind denials at me – prove me wrong. I beg of you, prove me wrong…I don’t think that anyone will be able to.

Peace and blessings to you all, my friends.

Politics versus Faith

(Authors Note: I originally wrote this in 2013 after a contentious political season, but I believe strongly that this is a s true today as when I wrote it four years ago. We have a new President now, but the political landscape in America is just as polarized and divided as it was in 2013. Ok, it is more so. But spiritual truth never changes. Think on what I repost here and remember that our faith in Jesus Christ is far more important than our politics. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.)

A few weeks ago, prior to the last election in fact, I had made the statement in one of my posts that I tried to stay out of the thick of politics since it is at best a field of verbal combat for people with opposing views. I also stated that sometimes circumstances compelled me to cover that subject. With America becoming more and more politically charged and polarized I find that I need to speak once again; in fact, anyone who has been following my recent posts on facebook and other, more conservative social media, will have seen that I’ve been pretty vocal on the subject. However, I have found that my political bent has been, or rather should have been, tempered by my faith in God and Jesus Christ as my Savior, and so tonight I want to address the inherent conflict between politics and faith.

Those two areas, politics and one’s spiritual beliefs, are not necessarily mutually exclusive but instead should ideally function in a sort of symbiosis, a mental dance of two barely compatible partners. While one’s faith should never be subjugated to one’s political beliefs, a person’s politics should always act as an outward expression of their faith. Hence when Martin Luther nailed his famed theses on the doors of the Wurttemberg cathedral, his act of faith helped to define what was a largely political endeavor, which was the abatement of the Catholic Church’s political power in Europe. But like most religious forays into politics, the Reformation which he helped start became a temporal, political movement as evidenced by all of the back room dealing that occurred within the various factions of that day, and as shown by the wars of that time which were nominally fought in the name of religion but were executed in pretty much the same way that the wars over territory and resources were fought. I see the same forces at work today in the United States.

The present and future political confrontations here in America are being waged between those who believe in our Constitution and those who wish to subvert or even abolish it as an outdated document. On the one hand we have the largely conservative part of our population who are trying to defend the rights expressed in our Constitution, and on the other are those who hold the view that our Constitutional rights can be sacrificed in the name of social change or progress with the stated aim of improving the lives of all Americans. We therefore have large segments of the population who are diametrically opposed to each other, and the rhetoric hurled into each other’s faces has become very confrontational and even hateful.

Now, I am going to avoid the entire issue of the globalists’ dream of establishing a One World Government (or at least I will try to!) and arguments over suspected false flag attacks and other conspiratorial issues. My goal here is to examine how politics should be an extension of faith, not which side has the better arguments or the more conclusive proofs. These are all issues which have been covered many times by many people; anyone who wants to dig deeper into those areas is invited to go to infowars.com or to the blog of a good friend who has done a considerable amount of research into these areas, which can be found at unifiedserenity.wordpress.com.

I have found over the last three decades that there are those who adhere to Christianity in one form or another who occupy both ends of the political spectrum, and I’ve also noticed that which political stand they take is largely based on which view of the Christian faith they adhere to. Those who adhere to the beliefs of what is commonly called the Evangelical movement in Christianity are generally more conservative in their politics, while those who practice the more “liberal” form of Christianity tend to support the more “progressive” causes. In both cases their faith is being expressed through their politics, but this does not mean that all conservatives are conservative Christians or that all members of the “liberal” movement are liberal Christians; in both cases to assume such would a grave error. I know many strongly politically conservative people who are not Christians, and I doubt if there needs to be any clarification of how many of the “progressive” movement in America are Christians of any type. In both groups there are people who do not adhere to either branch of Christianity, and that, of course, is their right.

Ever since the early 1980s, here in America the more conservative Christians have become increasingly political, and that in itself is not a bad thing – I believe that we could use a lot more godliness in our political process. But this has led to a certain degree of confusion between conservative politics and conservative Christian faith, and this has sadly given rise to such acts as the murder of doctors who perform abortions, beatings and hate crimes against homosexuals and other crimes against “progressive” elements in our society. (Since I have probably just ticked off the anti-abortion movement and those who believe that homosexuality is an abomination, let me take a moment to assure you that I support neither abortion nor homosexuality!) If I remember correctly, when the Messiah walked among us 2,000 years ago He said we should love our enemies, not kill them off. Trying to coerce the population at large to conform to a certain set of Biblical standards when we live in a decidedly un-Biblical world is not only an effort doomed to fail, but one which always turns into at least as big a problem as what it tried to change. Proof of this lies in history (you knew I had to keep bringing history up!): the Spanish missionaries in the Americas with their convert or die methods, the Crusades and their bloody efforts to liberate Jerusalem from hordes of Muslims, the Puritan dictatorship in England under Cromwell with its violence against the people of the British Isles, the list goes on and on. The “Great Commission” that Christ gave us, wherein He sent us out to make believers of as many as would accept the faith as true, did not command us to conquer the world in His name; that is a task that only Christ can fulfill.

A brief lesson from history is in order, and then I promise that I will wrap this up. In the middle of the Second Century BC the conservative elements of society of Judea rebelled against their Seleucid masters and the Hellenization of Judaism and established a dynasty in Judea commonly called the Maccabees. In a nutshell, the conservative Jews saw their people turning away from the teachings of Moses and the Prophets and embracing the much more “progressive” elements of Greek society and influence (remember that the Seleucid Empire was established by one of the generals of Alexander the Great). The Maccabees decided that they needed to take matters into their own hands, and instead of waiting on God to establish the Kingdom they took it upon themselves to do so, and they succeeded up to a point for roughly a hundred years. Did they establish God’s kingdom in Judea? No, for they still suffered from corruption and many other familiar vices, and when the Roman general Pompey came along around 63 BC their kingdom fell and became a Roman province.

Ok Dave, what’s the bloody point you’re trying to make? It’s simply this: we can try to reshape our society into what we see as God’s image, but we will always fail because it will be by our efforts, not God’s. Am I saying that we shouldn’t stand up for our rights, that we should just lie down and accept the rise of a tyrannical dictatorship in America? Of course not, we should stand up for what we believe. Is it a fight that we will win? I’m afraid not. Not only has the majority of Americans been sleeping for far too long, but the forces of globalism have gained the upper hand; besides, it wasn’t prophesied that we would prevail, it was prophesied that the dictator would rise and have his day of power before Christ would return. But we still have a moral obligation to stand up and be counted. We still, as citizens, have an obligation to have our say, to speak out in favor of the Constitution that was given to us to prevent just such a dictator from taking over. But we should also pray, and turn back to our Lord, and look to him for our deliverance and not to our own efforts.

Let us all ensure that our political words and actions are extensions of our faith, and at the same time let us resist the tendency for our political endeavors to unwittingly reshape our faith.

The Lights Are Going Out

Someone, I believe Winston Churchill, once famously said as he watched the bloody rise of Nazi Germany that “the lights are going out all over Europe”. I am going to borrow that phrase and say that the lights are going out all over America.

I’d always hoped that I’d never have to say those words about this country. Like so many other men and women I served this nation for four years while in the Navy, and I have always loved the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution that enable us to speak our minds about the events happening around us. For generations our country has stood out as the light of freedom, and many people around the world have either opted to join us or to reshape their own homelands to conform to the example of liberty that we have set. But those freedoms are under attack by forces that have hated our success and that have loathed our power, and those forces are gaining the upper hand as I write.

In the wake of the tragedies that have occurred, leaving a jumbled mass of discrepancies and unanswered questions in their wake, the forces of socialism are seizing the moment to unravel a part of what our forefathers have built by attacking the source of our freedoms, which is the American Constitution.  The Second Amendment to our Constitution, which was designed to ensure that Americans should never be disarmed in the face of tyranny, is about to go the way of the Prohibition Act and get thrown into the dustbin of history. And, as if this wasn’t bad enough, the amendment limiting the President to serving a maximum of two terms, is soon to follow. But why? Why are two seemingly unrelated parts of our Constitution under attack at the same time? I have an opinion…

Our freedoms are under attack today because there are elements of our society, and forces working behind the scenes, that are laboring to usher in what they consider a new era. Oh, it’s a new era alright. It is an era where we will be regimented and herded in whatever direction the nation’s leadership want us to be herded in. The global power elite, meaning the giant banking cartels that hold all of the purse strings, and the forces of socialism need to disarm the American people before they institute the sweeping changes that they have in mind. Japanese Admiral Yamamoto, the brilliant strategist who helped lead Japan’s war efforts in the 1940s, once said that he didn’t want to ever have to invade the United States because there would be “a rifle behind every blade of grass”, and he was right. For over two hundred years the American people have lived in relative safety from tyranny precisely because so many of us own firearms and are proficient at their use. Any foreign power that might wish to invade our territory would have to take that fact into account, but what about a domestic power? What if our own government decided to institute sweeping change against our will? That power would also have to account and plan for widespread armed resistance from not just our military, but our very population. Our military has been indoctrinated to support the government when actually the military oath is to “protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic”. But what to do about all of the Americans who are also armed? It’s simple – disarm them.

This should come as no surprise to anyone with even a passing familiarity with the history of the 20th Century. One of the key steps taken by every rising dictatorship was to disarm their own people in order to remove a threat to the ruling power. Hitler and Stalin both did it with horrifying results. The Cambodians did it before turning their troops loose on their people. There are so many examples to cite that space and time dissuade me from listing them all. The point is that once those citizens were disarmed the reigning government was able to implement its unholy plans to reshape their nation as they saw fit. That is happening here in America right now. The Obama administration and its allies are using the horrors of mass shootings as an excuse to disarm the very people that they are supposed to serve but which they are in fact planning to force to obey their will. Or, as former White House chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel put it, “never let a crisis go to waste”. How callous!

As for the pending attack on presidential term limits, I believe that there are two reasons. First, it would give the American Caesar the apparent legality to stay in office for as long as he could keep winning elections, no matter how nefariously. But second, and I believe that this is the primary reason, this attack is pending because it will trigger a Constitutional crisis that will be used as the pretext for declaring a national emergency and publicly using without restriction the sweeping powers that have been gathered into the hands of the President. Any modification to our Constitution or its Amendments would have to be ratified by the states before it became law, and with the current atmosphere of dissatisfaction with the Federal government that ratification would be hard to obtain. But if enough states stood firm and refused to ratify this change the dozing secessionist movements throughout America would suddenly become quite popular, and we saw 150 years ago what would happen next. A second American civil war would seem likely, and that would be all that the White House would need to declare an emergency and institute martial law.

So we stand at a pivotal moment in American history. What are we to do? Follow our consciences and do what is right. But could we win against this rising tyranny? No. We have slept too long and allowed to much to happen with very little comment and no decisive action. Besides, I believe that this has all been foreseen 2,000 plus years ago. The only way that we would stand a chance of stopping the rise of an American dictatorship would be through armed resistance, and it is precisely that which will give the White House the pretext that it needs to clamp down complete control over its subjects. The best that we could hope for would be to die or be incarcerated for staying true to our beliefs, which makes the whole question a very personal one. What can I do? Stay true to what I believe and hope for the Lord’s speedy return to overthrow the forces that have been allowed to govern our nation and our planet for far too long.

So I will stay true. I will speak out against the rise of tyranny until I am no longer able to. I will stand up for the truth no matter what it costs. That is what a person who believes in liberty would do, and I believe very strongly in liberty. I dread the years to come for I know what they mean, but to remain silent would be to support this foul dictatorship through omission.

And as I watch the lights go out all over America, I will be praying very hard. Only God can save us now.
